Inishowen
A shared home-place anchor keeps the clann coherent across continents preserving our security and continuity across environs.
- What we do: coordinate July, preserve stories, help people connect, and welcome Afrohibernian members of our humble Clann.
- What we don’t do: gatekeep identity or pretend to speak for every McLaughlin everywhere.
- Mayo sept: ALWAYS welcomed and included as a distinct branch story within the wider Donegal context and castles.
Governance (simple & real)
We operate as a member-led society with clear roles and transparent coordination. Chapters are geographic. Septs/branches are family-line groupings.
- Clann Council: sets shared standards, approves shared initiatives, coordinates July.
- Chapters (are geographic): local logistics, outreach, accessibility.
- Septs / branches (familial): heritage, lineage questions, continuity of records.
- Privacy and security enforcement team: maintenance of consent-first publishing and other matters established via Council or other appropriate Constitutional means; sensitive info handled need-to-know.
Committees handle execution; the Council handles standards and approvals. As an all-volunteer organization linked by blood and shared by stories, we are all hands in this together and all squads have a role to play in the success of our Clann, at all commitment levels.
Committees & workgroups
We run practical work(groups)through volunteer committees—culture, faith, health, information, operations, philanthropy, prosperity, technology, unity, and more.
- Projects: time-boxed deliverables with a named owner and a clear finish line. Provide purpose and clarity for all to see and understand, purpose to life!
- Join a committee: even 30 minutes/week moves mountains when it’s organized. Lend a hand!
